edit: "If you're not a teenager and are gaining more than 2 lbs per week and it's muscle, then you're either a) a genetic freak, b) on steroids, or c) a genetic freak on steroids." lol
how did you get 2400 calories?
if you consistently don't get enough to eat, you'll kill your metabolism and it will be impossible to build lots of muscle. Also, anytime you eat out at a generic american restaurant (u know the ones, they got burgers steaks fish chicken and salads on the menu) count on your meal being around 1000 calories. yes, even the salads

5'11", 182 lbs., 19 years old, sedentary, male (
using the calculator linked on that article)
yeah my metabolism is incredibly slow now. it used to be pretty high. i was really skinny when i was younger and could eat whatever the fuck i wanted. now i barely eat anything but i still maintain my current weight.
lol god damn fried food
james, eat more and go to the gym. and dont eat shit, and learn to cook. fuck, you could just make chicken and eggs and white rice every day and that would fulfill your nutrition and weaboo quotients right there
that said BMR's are fucking tricky to nail down. just aim for 2000ish calories and exercise vigorously 3-4 times a week, you'll be fine. if you want to bulk up, eat more. if you want to slim down, eat less. how much you adjust your diet by will affect the rates, thats about it. not all that hard
people make diets far more complicated than they need to be. unless youre trimming for a very specific purpose (bodybuilding show etc) then you dont have to be all that careful. getting fat? eat less food / less trash. wanna get bigger? eat peanut butter sandwiches. simple as that

i hate chicken/eggs (edit: i hate chicken that isn't chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a)
i'm moving into an apartment next week anyway, so i'll be able to cook for myself (this means not eating the stuff my parents make that is bad for me). plus it has a nice gym so i can exercise.

I find that it's not so much about dieting as it is about exercise. Walk, run, swim,
lift. Then you can eat whatever you want within reason. In Junior year of high school, I took a weight training class and lifted daily. I would eat fast food
every weekday and still lost fat mass and gained muscle mass.
I've been doing daily running/walking and eating more reasonably (tried vegetarianism for a couple of weeks, then gave it up) and I've lost ~14 pounds over the summer (about two months since I started), down to 166 from 180, and I'm a similar height and I bet similar metabolism to you.
If you're really serious about it, make daily logs of your caloric intakes and exercise.
Try to work out at least 4 times a week, 5 if you can. Working out can literally mean running for 30 minutes.
oh hey lookit this.. we stickied the popular threads finally!
good going - I like it
I was finally able to take some pictures of what i've bought recently (besides from the weekly comics or major games)
I have a boxed version of Mother 3, but accidentally left it at my grandma's house. Also a EZ Flash IV with the English patch of M3 only.
Best superhero pair of the best version of the league on a kickass box!
Hot damn vongore, that is some kickass Earthbound swag. How'd you swing a NES copy of Earthbound?

It's a reproduction (relax, i know it's pirate and i didn't paid more than 30 for it, shipment included). It's just and old (and compatible) NES cart where someone erases all the data and replaces it with the unreleased english proto rom. I already finished it on my NES without any problem

That's actually pretty cool considering it never got released, just sacrifice a Mario/Duckhunt cart to make an EB cart. Also the import copies of Mother 2 and 3 are ridiculously expensive
