Did you read it, brony?
Because this is Bethesda going "Oh hey pc gamers thanks for the support and success but fuck you we're catering to console kiddies lololololo."
Yeah, I read it. Doesn't bother me one bit. I'll be playing the game on console anyway since my PC won't run it. I've heard enough positive things about the game that I'm not going to let this bother me.
I for one am used to Oblivion on the Ecks-Bawks so it does not effect me personally however I do think it to be beyond rude that they are as you said shitting on the people who rose them to be what they are now.

On person gets mad, bundle us all together. |:
I am so not bundling all people who prefer to play on PC together. Hell, I prefer to play on PC whenever possible, they're usually a much better option.
I just think it's ridiculous when people act like anything that's in any way related to a console should be hung drawn and quartered.

I feel like designing a game primarily for a platform with generally fewer capabilities (in terms of graphics, for instance) then trying to port it to a more powerful or adaptable platform will give us a PC port that could potentially be shoddy. I don't know how many PC ports of console games I've played through steam that are buggy, glitched, or entirely unplayable (I'm looking at you, every single Tom Clancy game). Will it happen with Skyrim? I hope not.

This whole argument in a nutshell.
What I'm mad about is the fact that they're going down to the consoles as their primary audience for the dollar, and porting the console version over and 'fixing it' like we asked for sloppy seconds.
game developers lose such untold amounts of money from pirates (not Somalian). Yeah there are ways to pirate on a console but that is much more difficult/uncommon; it's no surprise that developers want to gear more toward consoles.
and yeah, I used a semi-colon.
Dear god I can already predict this will erupt into a console war.
Ok before this starts let me just say both consoles and PC have ups and downs, PC in my opinion is better but that does not take away the right for Bethesda to gear it towards consoles and after all we are still getting it for PC, so it really is not much big of a deal. Lets wait till the damn game comes out before the dramu.
I'm just gonna go play Super Mario Bros. 1-3 on my NES. So superior to my custom gaming machine. Nintendo ftw am I right guys?

PC games aren't where the money is. Consoles are. If the developer wants to stay in business they have to go where the money is.

The sad truth.

Can't say with certainty, but Id bet valve is making a larger margin than console centric developers.
At the very least, I can say that for each unit sold on steam vs unit sold on a console, the developer gets more money for the digital steam sale.
most definitely
Dice knows what they are doing by focusing on PC for BF3

For valve, i'm sure they're margins are higher since the don't have to pay to create the physical media. CD/DVD pressing costs are a large part of producing a game.

it' not always that simple though.
carmack does a decent job explaining some of that here:

valve generates a lot of revenue for not having to ship items or have stores open but the audience for console is larger because a lot of pc people pirate. as far as multiplayer goes, the pc will still remain solid with keys but for single player games on the pc versus console, console is money town.
