Thanks.
But...we are a pubbie server.
New firefox 4.0 aint so bad.
Did I miss something? I was pretty sure the target sucks guys got the message, haven't seen them around in a while...

I joined the server, then two sick shot buddies joined my team, then that attracted 5 pro players that they were friends with to join the team as well. ergo why its hard for me to play on the brb servers with out creating an inevitable stack.

Ah, yea, you could always just ask them to auto-assign b)
I think most of us do anyway, I've always thought maybe a plug-in to force auto-assign might be nice, but then people might not be able to choose a particular team if they want to attack/defend first, or anti-stack if the random assignments make things really lopsided.
I could look into it if people are genuinely interested.
If it becomes a chronic problem, install it, but like 95% of the time it's not an issue.
Actually, are you able to turn it on and off easily? Like, leave it off, but if some dickwads come in and start stacking, you could turn it on for however long they're on the server.
or you could do: after team x wins y consecutive times, the server forces a scramble thus avoiding the auto assign problem and solving the stacking problem.

I think that's a pretty fair compromise, if possible.

I'll look into it, the problem can be a bit map specific though, for example Dustbowl if a team caps all 3 stages that's 6 points. But that doesn't take into account if it was a 5 minute roll or a 20 minute slugfest.
If I put a label in for just 'CP' maps, a 6-0 score would be reasonable on a dustbowl style map, but a score of 6-0 on something like granary or coldfront would be rage-quit zone for most players.
I'll take a bit of time to parse sourcemod's plugin repository tonight, if anyone else wants to link me to anything feel free to.

Why take an exorbitantly simple task and make it so complex?
server.cfg: mp_scrambleteams_auto 1
cp_dustbowl.cfg: mp_scrambleteams_auto_windifference 8
cp_granary: mp_scrambleteams_auto_windifference 3
cp_coldfront: mp_scrambleteams_auto_windifference 3
pl_goldrush.cfg: mp_scrambleteams_auto_windifference 5
etc.
Why do no server admins ever bother using the tools valve gave us and run straight to SourceMOD? =/
Probably because they're not used to Valve giving them useful serverside features like that. Otherwise AdminMOD wouldn't exist in the first place ;x

I actually didn't even know that existed....however, you want to repeat and make a map.cfg file for every one of the 80+ maps on the server, or even just like, the top 20 played customs?
At that point is when it starts to get into "god damnit why cant I just make one config file someone make a plugin" territory....

I thought of that argument when I posted it, and came to this conclusion; you're still making that many entries *somewhere* - be it seperate .cfg's for every map we play, or in a text file that contains every map and it's specific winlimit threshold.
Also my bad, I thought everyone knew about map specific cfg's, it's been there since TFC.

True, but how long has that cvar been in there?

Mann-Co Update, didn't realize that could be what Caff was referring to, my bad.

Here's a map specific .cfg for every map we have on the server defaulting to winlimit of 4, modify for maps that need it as you see fit. Â ;D
