Made a little opinion video about Metacritic, I'd love some feedback on it.


Metacritic: An Objective View

nice production values.

even nice narration, and I say that even though your voice induces an automatic gag reflex after all these years. you read that well.

the content is bollocks, though. Inflation in game scores is not a new issue, and many have commented on fact that many review outlets only use 7-9 on the scale. Comparing that to school grades is baseless and nonsensical from a mathematical perspective, they may look the same to you, but they are not.

And if you wanted to combine and average the ratings between meta and tomatoes, it's possible, but you need to use a bit more math than just x+y/2.

Overall, I give this a 62% rating. I won't tell you what scale I am using.

3/10, would not bang

By the way, to answer your question on "where the numbers come from" about Metacritic...

In Chrome, you can also right-click an image and 'Search Google for this image'

ummm... these have been "a thing" ever since chrome was launched...

And Google does a decent job, but tineye is better for exact matches

TIL Chrome was launched on October 1st, 2013....

Riding home today, through downtown Hammer. I heard/watched 5 different people honk at a guy for having his car breakdown just after the turn in a major intersection.

Only thing the guy needed was help pushing his car into a nearby parking lot. Pushed car, restored a guy's faith in humanity, went about the day. Total time spend being a decent human being: 2 minutes.

I loath the way sheep make noise but demonstrate no will to see the desired result.

I've bodyblocked using my car for people doing that in the past because the sheep keep passing them, preventing them from getting out of the intersection, feels good man.

The most recent time I hopped out of a car to help someone push, it was my ex's stepfather, whom I'd not talked to in years because obvious.

My grandmother, who's car I jumped out of, yelled at me before and after for helping.
