his dad said he's fine and to never contact him again. So probably dead or bad accident.

Yeah, about 2 years or so ago I sent his dad an email asking about it as non-creepily as possible. Didn't get a very good response.

Bioshock Infinite's ending was really eh
I loved it.

I found it to be my most beloved game in recent memory since HL2 EP2. Including and especially the intro and the ending.
In the middle, I found the gameplay to be better than Bio 1, and the setting to be as immersive than Bio 1 (the latter a tall feat).
Infinite weaved history, science, politics, music, architecture, art, storytelling, cinematography, and design into a single package in a way never before seen.
True, if you hunted for the voxophones, the ending was somewhat predictable. I imagined a version of it but did not get all of the twists right.
Also true, if you skipped the voxphones, I imagine the ending might seem a bit random. or chaotic. But then again particle physics can seem random or chaotic to the non-physicist.

"hey Dr. Bali, what's that Theta at the end?"
"that's life"
"huh?"
"Noise, it's fucking noise, you're describing a quantum system right? That's the randomness that always fucking your shit up"

Is it abnormal to be completely desensitized to the recent happenings at the boston marathon but feel moderate anxiety because of fictional characters and their story?
emotionally, it's no different than another random bombing across the world to me

You care about fictional characters because you identify with some aspect.
Personally, I do find it abnormal. In such a case; is it your inability to comprehend the loss of life in such a violent nature, or that you cannot identify within yourself anything in common with the people involved? Can you truly claim apathy without considering such a scenario within your own life?
