Went on /v/ last night, posted something sad. It got 500+ replies and was archived. It's honestly surprising to see how many people were in the same situation at one point of their lives.
And you didn't post in the FML thread here?

yeah, hitting up 4chan archives on a government connection is not a good idea.

Or at work...

>Try as delicately as possible to explain situation in email, it'll probably sound really creepy if done improperly
>Wait a few days for a response
>New email pops up from the dad
>"refrain from any further contact with us."

To this day, I still don't know what happened to him. And all I have to say is, if you're out there, and you see this: We all miss you. And I haven't bought any games on you account, just like I promised.
Reminds me of back in high school, a friend of mine from way back when I used to play CS comp style suddenly stopped getting online one day, I never knew why until I called his phone like a month after we hadn't seen him online. I find out he went through the windshield of his jeep into a downed tree and died.
Double.

So my dad has been motherfucking this brand new Dell Inspiron N5110 for the last few days that he just got, the wireless just plain sucks on it he says.

It will work fine for like 20 seconds when you connect to WiFi, but then it just dies. Windows 7's network diagnostics point to a problem "between the access point/your cable modem/router and the intertubes."

I did some basic troubleshooting on it last night, and arrived at the conclusion of "McAfee is fucking with something" because of the weirdness of the symptoms it was exhibiting, like not even being able to send a ping to either the access point it says it's connected to, or the pFSense box downstairs. So I get home today and slap a live OpenSUSE USB stick in, and *blamo* working wireless as soon as it's booted up.

I start a ping to the pFSense box, and lo and behold it's <1ms pingtimes all around, omfg it is McAfee! - Then all of a sudden it jumps to 2000+ ms pingtimes to the gateway and the WiFi starts degrading in the same manner it does under Windows. I'm motherfucking it p.hard at this point, and I hop online to kirby420.com and attempt to grab the 200mb speedtest file on there for just such occasions, and the download labors along at *exactly* 15KB/s for pretty much *exactly* 10 seconds before jumping up to 2.2MB/s where it should be at. Seems odd to have such a steady low rate transfer...

Oh hey what do you know, Centrino's power saving methods are gayer than Richard Simmons. They're so restrictive they pretty much kill the connection until it sees a substantial load for way too long before it will un-throttle the wifi card.

I know that feel. I can't even count how many times, IRL and online. Damn you.

I remember most every server that I became a regular on*, and the folks that I liked to play with and lost over the years. Which is how I learned to be nice to people** and enjoy the time you have when you have it.

I think the quote pyramid was threatening to collapse space-time.

This thread was made for stupid shit like this. Anything goes here but the usual banned stuff. Porn/illegal content/etc.
I'm really confused that there is a new Matt posting a lot and making lots of threads. Is this a threat to the space-time continuum?

I would've thought you'd be used to other matts at this point in your life Tongue

and although I'm a devout ponies member, we could start a sub-coalition of matts
