i dont understand why you thought it would get the largest prize, isn't this the first year mlg has picked up tekken6? I doubt that they'd meet, much less beat the prize pot of evo, a group that revolves solely around fighting games. the big money goes to the big contenders, ie halo 3 and WoW. if tekken6 turns out to be wildly popular and successful, I'm sure the prize money will go up in years to come, just be happy the game is getting exposure

LARP seems like the kind of thing anyone could enjoy if people didn't have their predisposed opinions against it.

Why should it be labeled childish? Just because people become adults doesn't mean they should stop using their imaginations.
And historic recreations are pretty badass. I read an article on this one guy who did a Napoleonic War battle in France and lost his arm when the cannon replica exploded.

i'm sure he was
ecstatic to be part of such an authentic recreation
The article was more on how he overcame the adversity of being a right handed guy and losing his right arm.
I have a friend in the city with a large LARP group, and he's invited me before... I still wish I could go. But if I do I want to do it right and I don't have the money for that right now. Nor the sewing skills. Hell, not even the body, probably.
