Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry about our job posting. Due to an abnormal amount of spam received our hr team prepared a list in order to verify people and make sure they are for real and interested in this job so, before anything else, we will have to ask you to verify yourself. It only requires a phone number so it's nothing advanced. Basically, you will confirm your identity in a very easy process so we can collect phone numbers from applicants and establish contact afterwards.
To begin please go to http://c-verified.com and enter your details there so we can get your phone number and contact you regarding the position.

Sounds fishy, right? Well the website's got all sorts of Verisign and McAffee 'Hacker-safe' logos on it, but they're all rehosted. It's a total scam. So I reported it to google, yahoo, its hosting provider, the dns registrar, and dyndns (because it used cverify.ath.cx to redirect traffic to another hosting provider for all of the logos). And for good measure, reported it to Verisign and McAffee as well just to be sure. Got a response today:

Canadian Citizens do not need visas to study in the U.S. You do need to obtain an I-20 (or DS-2019) Certificate of Eligibility from the university that you plan to attend. At the time you receive the I-20 (or DS-2019) you will be registered with SEVIS, the student tracking system.
Fuck yesssssss
Im sorta throwing this at you from somewhere in the middle, so I'll provide context.
I'm planning on moving to Tucson, Arizona to go to back to school and work towards a BA in MIS (Management Information Systems) and up untill yesterday I was under the impression that I was going to need to apply for a student visa. I was confident that I would qualify, but the limitations that a student visa imposes on its recipient is pretty hefty. For example, with a student visa you need to take 12 credit hours per semester to be considered a full time student, failure to take 12 credit hours would mean they can revoke your visa and send you back to wherever you came from. Also those that posses a student visa are only eligible to work 20 hours a week on campus.
Now that context has been provided you can see why I am stoked that I don't need a visa!
I just did my taxes and im getting $2000 back. Impulse buying here i come!
