I find the idea of a celebratory tour for the Enola Gay to be only slightly less revolting than if the ChiComs sent the lead tank from Tian'anmen Square on tour.
Just because an argument can be made that the American decision to unleash atomic destruction was the lesser of two evils does not mean it should be glorified. We don't need keep bragging about it (even if America did what needed to be done - which is arguable but a good case can be made For). This type of prickwaving only distracts from the fact that we've bungled nearly every major engagement since then...
Operation Anaconda - ask yourself
was it full of bleeps and blunders, did they ever find Osama?

Despite whatever opinion someone may hold, you can't argue the fact that that aircraft is an important piece of history. It should be preserved.

I really want to read the last train from hiroshima. Tells the story of those who miraculously survive. Plus when the author was on NPR he was saying that the pilots themselves had trouble dropping the bomb. Something about how they were supposed to drop one on a military target but they couldn't so they had to go to one of the alternative targets and the pilot was trying to drop it in the least populated area. I dunno my memory is foggy, I'm sure rummy will correct me with his leet google skills. I swear he should be a librarian.

[/quote]My dad ended up taking care of one of the pilots or someone related to one in the ER at one point. I can't remember exactly.
@dtrain - absolutely an important piece of history that should be preserved. just like that little camp outside Munich and that little motel on the south side of Memphis. I just think the tour is overboard.
@surf - it sounds like you are thinking about the Fat Man run
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bockscar. And what makes you think I'm not a librarian?
Rumor has it that Pink Floyd is going to do The Wall tour again ;D
dude, being a librarian actually sounds like it would own if you could read all day

You can get paid to read, just not all day. You are supposed to be reading stuff that applies to your department but my wife gets away with some other books sometimes too (romance novels :-\).
Awww yeah,
Rush is gonna be at Red Rocks this summer.
Just got back from ireland and Britain. Gnarly ass trip. Hit it off with a girl over there but i called her a slut like 20 min before we touched back on home and now shes pissed....
We had a free, surprise BBQ at work today. Then the Brigadier General let everyone in my building (and my building only) go home at noon. And take Friday off.
Which brings me to....

Cooke got away with a dirty hit a while back and there was controversy because he wasn't suspended. This is karma if I've even seen it lol
Dude, did you see the Bruins/Canes game?
Boston scored THREE SHORTHANDED GOALS ON THE SAME POWERPLAY, in like 65 fucking seconds. Carolina FORKING SUCKS!
I don't even watch Hockey and thought that was pretty ridiculous. Good job on that Kane dude.
