Suddenly the almost completely blank upcoming schedule I had at work has been replaced with full time hours again. Yay, actually making money!
Only a little bit of sarcasm was used in this post
Discovered that our house's swamp cooler was actually repairable and decided to do it after the landlord was being a douche about fixing it. I spent about 90 bucks, but the thing is up and running again.

Send an invoice to your landlord. If they don't pay, withhold $90 from your rent.

I like that too. Charge him for labor. Find out the prevailing wage in your area and charge him that.

You can't withhold from rent because the obligations are legally distinct.

It's also written in the lease that the landlord is obligated to maintain any and all amenities.

It looks like withholding rent is an option in Arizona (which is where I believe Karth lives). I'd say Air Conditioning not working in Arizona in the summer would qualify as something that affects the habitability of the home.
just make sure you shit on the floor as you move out, and turn the a/c off.

Just shit on the floor? That's armature, you save up your shit for days, then you stash it places. In the air ducts, the washing machine, the upper deck of the toilet, under floor boards, and in drop ceilings.
You don't want them to *find* the shit until you're long gone.
Then you are just punishing the next poor sap who moves in and has to slowly find your poop.

That being the case I'd say it still affects the habitability.
