I moved out of my moms and at a damn good time. She is now a felon. Feels pretty good to be out of her sphere of influence. Now to apply at Gamestop, quit my current job if I get hired and look into college. Again.
Any advice for getting hired at Gamestop?

Try to find a local independent place or even like best buy if you want to work at a gaming shop.
Not because you wont like what you will be doing, but because of
how they pay you.
Instead of your check going to a direct deposit account you get a prepaid debit card, if you want to use this card to transfer the money to a regular account or to get cash at an ATM, there is a fee. If you are already on a tight budget its a load of bullshit, considering also that if you use the card enough...it can push you below minimum wage through the fees docking your pay.

Honest suggestion? Apply everywhere. Everyone and their mother applies to Gamestop. I've had a few friends who were managers at EB Games, and if you don't have relevant cashier experience, they ain't gonna hire you. Don't pigeonhole yourself so you can work at a game store. Anywhere and everywhere man.

[/quote]Apply to everywhere you can so that every one of them can never respond and leave you completely in the dark about whether you might get a call or not. Trying to get an entry-level job these days is so much fun. At least you have something currently.
I second Best Buy, though. My friend works there and he likes it and has a lot of cool perks. You also learn how to abuse the Best Buy "extended care" system to get things. He has gone through 4 computer mouses in the past year, just cuz he gets bored of one and wants to exchange.

Look at security guard jobs. The pay is generally better than what you'd get at gamestop and the work is pretty easy.
You need exactly zero experience to be a teller. Â I'm assuming you can do basic math because you're one of those sexy brb.u'ers. Â As long as you can do that and smile at complete strangers, then go apply at local banks and credit unions. Â After that, when you apply for jobs, they'll see you worked at a bank and that looks impressive.
Also, DO NOT apply at places where you will use the discount. Â That may seem cool, but it's largely unsatisfying because you spend your disposable income on the way out your workplace and then have nothing left. Â And it's a crap job, anyway, so you'll be making crap money, won't impress anyone with it, and it won't thrill people looking at your resume.
EDIT: I second the security guard idea. Â I know this guy who isn't very bright and the only "security" he was cut out for was being the security barrier. Â He wasn't muscular, either. Â Just morbidly obese. Â If he can do it, anyone can do it.

Also you don't have to use it, of course. I worked at a pizza place where I could get 50% off any one order per day but I never used it until the very last day I worked there. But I do know a guy who worked security as a second job. They didn't even give him a firearm because it was so cushy. You get a lot of time to yourself.

This should not be legal.
I just woke up... because I went to sleep at 6:00 AM after being at Hyde at the Bellagio at a table with bottle service thanks to a boss who loves to party, met the GM, he gave me his card (cool guy, is a veteran), he actually put one of our party on the list for Tuesday when Marilyn Manson hosts there (and told her he'd comp her a table ($1400))... too bad I have to leave.
Oh and if you are into. The club scene... If in Vegas, DJ Five, find him, you will not be disappointed. He was who DJ'd at Hyde, amazing.
