Accepted to med school (MCW) ;D
I was a senior in high school when I first joined this community, just beginning to think about a career in medicine, and now we've just about come full circle. Hopefully I'll still be here in 4 years when I'm finishing up there! Anyways, glad that all the stress I've had over the past few months is suddenly gone!
Congratulations!
Seriously, great job man! Are you planning on specializing or just going general practitioner?

Congratulations! You Won!

Yeah, it is pretty crazy, I listen to PCPs complain all the time about it. Mostly the justification I hear from specialists is it's the amount of revenue specialists generate versus primary care for corporate medicine (as operating and insurance costs are strangling private practices) that's driving this wage difference. And that's medical billing, which when you dig down is founded on what the health care system can squeeze out of the federal government for treating a cold vs Crohn's Disease. When Medicare put the baseline down that they'll pay $X for Y treatment, it became the standard, and prices moved up from there to take advantage of payments from private insurance. Also, procedures (and who they're done by- you do not pay the same for a mole removal from your primary care doc vs having a dermatologist do it) are worth orders of magnitude more than preventative medicine.

my Cambridge Soundworks Model Eleven just blew both speakers.
I placed an e-mail to CSW, never got a response.
I remembered my mom used to fix speaker surrounds with pantyhose and rubber cement. These Model 10 satellites appeared very solid and molded. but lo and behold, the grilles did pry off with a corkscrew.
Then,
some of this. Fuck year.
This might not be the $300 replacement speakers I was eyeing, or the $100 drivers, but I think this $4 bottle of rubber cement and and old dress shirt rocks to my specifications.
I love Tumblr. I got to be an antagonist for about 10 minutes (dream fulfilled)
For the first time in my life, I managed to piss off a lot of "vegans".
I REGRET NOTHING.
This guy got his new Computer upgrades. 3570K, 16 GB Ram, 128 GB SSD, and new MB.
MY GOD THE SPEED
Everyone has to take a stand for something, and I respect that, but there are an awful lot of people who vigorously defend their right to have a tumblr friends list full of opinions they already agree with, and I'm polluting their internet with my carnivore presence or something.
Just watched Sir Paul McCartney rock the fuck out with Nirvana for the Hurricane Sandy concert.
For the first time ever I have Cable internet over DSL..
My god.. :o

Nah, it's just Cogeco. I'd love to sign up with Shaw though, at the same pricing I could have had 100Mbps service. Alas, they are only available on the Escarpment(aka The Mountain)
