Ahhhhh Hammer, prepare to be frustrated and amazed by both it's fluidity and amazing penchant for pissing you off and crashing when you expect it the most.

At least it doesn't lie to you, you know it hates you, and it knows you know it hates you, and it does it to your face.
hammer is literally straight up awful after awhile i was like why am i doing this
Anyway, my day was just made.
So I bought a used 10in sub with amp and box for pretty cheap, used on a Subaru forum. Well it arrives and the weight of the sub + UPS's box-handling skills (despite fragile stickers) pulled three of the four mounting screws out, and the sub was hanging slanted in the box.
No big deal, I'll just rotate it and drill new holes.
Well I remove the amp from the side of the box so as to move it to another side, and I hear a rattling. Open up the amp and there's a capacitor rattling around its one intact lead.
Spend a week, a pair of Dremel brushes, and a new black and decker rotary tool cutting the back of the amp casing (fucking 3/8"-1/2" aluminum) to access the rear of the circuit board (it wasn't coming out of the case...).
Learn to solder
De-solder the remaining lead of the capacitor and remove it, solder 22-24awg extension cables to the capacitor, stick the two new leads through the PCB and solder them both down. Then proceed to stick the vacuum hose against the hole in the case and pray there's no metal dust left.
Dig out my trusty, 15-year-old power supply and some 22awg wire from a model train set we recently disassembled. Jury-rig the amp into the 10amp 12V circuit and keep an extra wire for the "remote power" lead. Grab a 3.5mm to RCA cable, my MP3 player, and a paper clip. Jump the PSU to power on with no motherboard, stick the "remote power" wire into a molex connector, and hear the bass line of "all you need is love."
Fuuuuuck yeah.
