Final time I'm doing this I promise. Scratch all the bullshit and emo I've had over this situation. I've been talking to HR, and they said that it's fine for me to have this week as my paid vacation, I just won't get paid for it til after the 8th, when I've been with the company for 1 full year. There was apparently no communication between them and my department. But all that matters really is HR okayed it. SO! I'm taking my vacation, I don't have to stress over shit and find people to cover my shifts... AND I'll get paid. Only downside now is I can't take a paid vacation to see my boyfriend, but oh well. AC IS A GO AND I'LL GET PAID!

Woke up, did what I wanted to, saw who I wanted to, passed out when I wanted to. Qualifier for a good day in my book.

I finally got a Comcast tech who knew what was up! He replaced a lot of cable, swapped out my splitter, and now I have the speed I've been paying for.

I've got great download, 20Mbit with a rather nice turbo-boost on the line that will spike it to almost 35Mbps for a good minute or two on initial downloads, but jesus if 1Mbit upload doesn't just fucking suck.

how did you go about getting an upgrade because my comcast service is less than mediocre.

Well what worked for me was I cooperated with the phone people's instructions, went through their troubleshooting steps, and the problem failed to get better. I finally convinced them to send a service tech, then called two days later saying it still sucks, send another guy. They logged onto my modem and were like "yup, it still sucks, we'll send another guy".

It didn't hurt that we're paying for the faster internet service (extra charge per month) and I had proof that we were not getting the "enhanced" speed or uptime which we were guaranteed. After enough times of making them credit me for a full day of downtime, it got too expensive for them not to fix it.

Look what I found.
