Last week I clicked on a phishing link that resulted in my Steam account being temporarily hijacked. Most of my valuable TF2 items were swiped (the hijacker's account didn't have enough slots to hold all my hats), but had them all restored today.
Yay for Steam Support.

Did the phishing link require you to input username & password? Or was just clicking on it enough?

It was a replica of the Steam forum login page, so it did require me to input username and password. I essentially handed them my information.

Prime reason why I don't use the Steam Forums. That's how most people get hijacked. Also I always check the url when it comes to steam.
Glad you were able to get your account restored.

That's actually a good question.
Steam only sent me ONE email with an access code, and I typed that in the phishing site. How they managed to log in on another computer completely, I do not know. I would think that Steam would send me a second email at that point, preventing them from gaining access.

That was the code that they used. You never entered it into a Steam site, you only gave it to them to enter.

My internship ends this eeek, but my lab partner's ended last week. As horrible as it sounds, I'm really glad I don't have to deal with listening to him and making pointless small talk about crap that I don't care about. Most people bore or irritate me. :-\
