Every Christmas Eve everyone in the family tree from three different families has a get together and gives gifts to each other. We usually get $20-$30 things, but tonight I got this.

Finding a card and candy cane on my desk when I rolled into work today.
At0m got me New Vegas which really made my day, and Christmas. Didn't want to tell my wife/family I was a bit disappointed I didn't get any games, but now I did got a game! Thanks at0m!

Everything about hardcore seems cool except losing companions permanently, since I went a little low on perception that might get me screwed. Might try it though. Is the difficulty really that low?

Companion dies? Just quick load and try again, or don't get into that fight
ED-E Fixes having shit perception for you, hardcore does three things I really like
1) Gives ammo weight, this is a pretty big limitation actually when you start carrying something like a minigun and 1000 rounds of 5mm ammo, you burn through that very very quick
2) Stimpacks do not stack and heal over time, no more of this pause then load your HP back to full and unpause shit
3) Water/Food/Sleep actually matter for something other than the "well rested" bonus and HP Recovery
The character I'm playing right now has low PER too, and 10 STR/END/LUK, really I don't need to perceive much when I'm super-sledging someone in the face. Starting was 9 STR, 9 END, 3 PER, 4 INT, 1 CHR, 6 AGL, 8 LUK, used a perk to raise luck to 9, and then used that luck to face rape the casinos for caps and get implants.
