In before new camera thread.
Get either a Canon SD- series P&S or on of Olympus Tough series cameras.
The Canon cannot be beat for it's price vs quality, and it's small and bad ass.
The Olympus Tough series are near indestructible, water proof and generally solid. Rilnac has a good history with them.

Or one of the Pentax Optio WG series cameras. Rugged, shock-proof, waterproof etc. My friend has one that she uses for spring break since things get a bit craaazy (dangerous for the camera).

Ah, yes. I completely forgot that Pentax returned with the WG2 series. They also make a model with built in GPS for location tagging.
I've been a Pentax consumer for a while and they have great value, but if you have the coin to drop on a Canon they have much more drool-worthy cameras. TBH if I get rich first thing I'd get would be a new Canon and lenses.
Flight delayed 2 hours...but I collapsed 2 bags together and my bag fees went from 210 to 60.
I am comming back with almost no hats, literally 5 left out of the 40ish I brought, have a wad of ~1400, and serain owes me another 110 over paypal.
I could have sold even more if I hadn't run out of a few styles. All in all, good times, now I'm really hoping for the table at geekkon.

Including convention costs and materials, I probably ended up making $400-$500. The main reason for doing hats is to pay for the cons, fanime was expensive due to the baggage overage frees I incurred on the way out, I could do it for less next year easily.
I may end up reaping a lot more orders off of business cards since a few styles people were asking for after I had sold out of them.

Is it a cost-effective option to fed-ex a box of hats to yourself care/of the hotel where you will be staying?

@Rummy - Lesson learned, ship anything I can't fit in two check bags to the hotel ahead of time
@Vera - a lot cheaper to use USPS, UPS makes a lot of money charging international customs fees....but Joel is Canadian, and I've heard some horror stories about their postal service

I thought you were going to grad school. Is it like a work study or are you just doing it until you start classes?

Summer job.
Synology updated their DS software and added a ton of new features including making it super easy to start your own dropbox-like cloud storage. They are seriously one of the best companies I've ever bought tech products from and I'm grateful Mission convinced me to get one.
TRB MOMENT #37
Bit of context:
A friend won Marvel vs Capcom 3 nationals and won a paid trip to EVO, so he decided to leave a month before to LA, stay with some friends and practice there. Last night was his first tournament and we all went to the Level Up channel to root for him.... the chat turned into a spanish chat with all 30+ of us making dick jokes US people couldn't understand.
Somehow, between all our support tweets, this one got featured on the stream..
Translation:
HUGE DICK is an awesome technology in Chile, @KaneBlueriverCL gonna show you the HUMONGOUS COCK tonigh on Mahvel 3.
This was due a wordplay with my friend's name.. he's called Nico, and Pico is the chilean version of Dick...
I couldn't stop laughing for hours.
