That's great man. At least you have employment while you continue the job search (if you decide to).

Finished with my finals and all. Have two access database projects to submit by tomorrow at midnight, but that's just an hour of busywork.

I finally have some free time to lay down the grooves.
Got my steam controller today...
I remembered this site existed thanks to War, so I got to post some. Was swell.

I've upgraded your status from "extinct" to "endangered".

I'm like polio or something, thought gone, but still in the far corners of the earth.
Officially started my new job today! I'll be making 3 times more then I made at my last job and this one helps build my resume.
Got a raise, will be moved to full time contract with 3 weeks paid vacation and they're looking to put me back on salary by the middle of the year.

Good day.
Salary is almost always better...salaried with overtime is best if you can swing that

Yeah I know, but I'm the only "IT Person" in a company of 180+ employees that spans across continental US and Canada, meaning I'm often working from as early as 6:00 AM My Time (since most of our back office staff is in Vancouver it lets me get other stuff done, like server maintenance without impacting them) all the way to 8:00 or 9:00 PM but this isn't all the time.

So having the hourly rate that also includes overtime does help when I have situations like that (they're kind of rare though). But it means that all my health, vision, dental, etc. needs to be paid out of pocket.

Still having a guaranteed pay check value makes budgeting so much easier.

Also, I didn't have vacation at all, so I went from 0 vacation to 3 weeks paid vaca, which is kind of nice, use it or lose it though.
First week on my internship is going well. First time working on a complex codebase and it's a little overwhelming. New apartment is pretty sweet too, but the pool is closed until further notice due to aids and the fitness center is like 4 ellipticals. RIP gains.
First week at my new job is going well. It's absolutely amazing to work with competent people.
That and wifi. Everyone has a laptop and you can just move your office anywhere..... this is new to me.
Got some news about my company that could be good on the whole, and very good for me, but can't talk about details for a few more weeks...

Government contract to build Megatron out of conveyor belts?
This is why it's so worth it to live in/around Columbus, OH... shit like this happens here...

A lot has happened since I last posted and caught up with you guys. I now live with 2 of my friends in an apartment, I just paid off my college debts and plan on returning when I can and I have a new GF.

It's been nice to be out of the toxic environment I used to live in, it's so much easier to build myself up.

I might be working for Best Buy soon. It's no Microcenter but it's better than fast food.

Hope you guys have been well.
Hey, glad to hear you're doing good!

A few months ago I guess? I don't even remember at this point. Also glad to hear you're doing better Coelit. Hopefully I'll be joining you in those feels before long.

Oh yeah, and just to clear up any confusion, I've officially moved to the Los Angeles area. I'll be here for probably a year.
