Thoroughly electrocuted my Corsair M95 through Cold Apartment/Body Hair/Flannel Blanket combo.
Go to local electronics candy shoppe and find the same mouse on sale, 40 bucks cheaper then online retail.
All is in balance.
I
made some guitar cables. I can't tell the difference in tone between these and the store bought ones, and I learned how to solder on something big and forgiving.
The gears of justice, sometimes,
they do grind slowly.
But when they do grind,
they are fabulous. Nearly 5 mil in man (heh) hours.
Something to warm the hearts of all of us, even those with less than amply body hair and/or `lectric blankies.

Let me know how long yours lasts. I've replaced the plug on my 16 ft cable that goes right into the axe 3 times now, and can't seem to get a solder that lasts more than 3-4 months without breaking down.

Make sure you're not doing a cold solder. Also make sure you're using good solder. I use Kester 66/44.

Good points.
I don't
think I'm doing cold solder, though the behavior of the circuit failure would be consistent with that. Do you think I've got too low of a soldering iron? (the one I got is very cheap and likely only hot enough for the most rudimentary applications). Would a beefier iron help?
I'm also using some
lead-free that seemed to have a decent rating and be eco-sound. Am I using terrible shit?
PS- still haven't had the time to get my vintage amp fixed. I know, I'm a terrible person.

This is true. Terrible people
do walk around downtown Philly posing as rebel pilots.Â

I never use lead free. F that stuff. Invest in a Weller iron. The W60P is a good start if you aren't looking for a variable temperature iron.
I use leaded solder, the RoHS business requires finer temp control to get decent results.
Got a call from Mojo, my guitar builder. He's moving and is lending me his
last finished guitar to hammer on while he builds my guitar.
Aeonwire has moved to Reno to stay with his girlfriend for now, saving his money while he interviews for his next job. I feel bad that he won't be over as often but he's close enough to visit for a weekend.
I was allowed back into school, and I am all registered for a class a stressful 3 days before class starts. Â feels good considering I am only allowed the one.
For the last three Magic tournaments I've played in, I'm 14-1-2. Last Friday, went 6-0 with a sick draft deck. Yesterday, 4-0-1 with a deck that was almost as good and tied in the last round with the only other undefeated (as per the usual). Today, played Legacy. 3-1 in regular rounds, other guys forced the top four to play instead of split. In the first round of top 4, the two Elf decks beat the combo decks. Me and the other elf player split the top two spots just to feel good that elves won a legacy tournament.

yeah, I haven't played Magic since Weatherlight.Â
dafuq was all that you just said.Â
I decided to play Dota before bed and ended up going 14 5 20 on Undying. A surprisingly good game.

Undying is awesome. Super easy for people to get overconfident and dive him and have him turn a 2 man gank into a double kill.

For real tournaments. In that first draft, I won a bunch of packs and opened $80 worth of cards. 2nd draft, not so much, just jank rares. Yesterday in Legacy, I won ~$50 in store credit. Not bad for $36 in entry fees (total. $13 for each draft, $10 for legacy).Â
And, I got a bunch of points towards rankings, but I don't really care about those so much. If you get enough, though, you can get byes for Grand Prix tournaments (if I ever go to one of those).
paid off the damn bike loan this month. happy early b-day to me
I just found out that "Don't Loose Your Way (Before My Body Is Dry) Goes With Everything" is a youtube thing. R.I.P. productivity but it makes me so happy!
