No, but we ripped up nearly 2 tons of concrete and tile before putting it in.
Gotcha.
I put in a mailbox on Sunday. Goddamn, the old one was a PITA to get out of there. This one's going to be worse, since the concrete base is now like two feet wide and weighs 50+ lbs

A single monitor? What is this, the stone age?

yeah, seriously :V
Caff's second monitor is the laptop, it has been for ages, he's one of the few people I know who uses two separate computers when he games online.

I do that too... except I'm using a KVM with a raspberry pi, and my macbook.
I think that 3 monitors is the sweet spot, regardless if it's one machine or two.

Honestly I agree, but I once saw a 6 monitor set up and I drooled quite a bit.
See he was a programmer, writer, and level designer.
So four vertical, one was for the code, another was for an RSS feed for his news sources, another was for writing, and another was for IRC
Then he had two horizontal stacked on top of each other, the one on top was the map editor and/or modeling software, the one on the bottom (front and center), games.
I want to set up like that one day. And yeah he had a mount for it to go against his wall. It was an amazing set up.

Seems like a lot of waste to be honest.

I'd use all that screen real estate

I'm only rocking 1 monitor at the moment but that's because my second monitor died and was out of warranty. Prob gonna buy one of those fancy ones you can switch to a vertical display.

You can technically do that with any monitor, it all depends on the mounting method.
Yeah but I mean one of the ones specifically meant for it like the Dell swivel ones.
Never quite sure what I would need a second monitor for. I mean, I'm only doing one thing at a time, so I don't need to have more than one thing up.
Says a man who has obviously never had two monitors.

You will find things to use for your second monitor. I've introduced a couple people at my work to multiple monitors and they were like "This is going to be so complicated and terrible" but one week later they can't imagine how they lived without it. Do what I did and find someone with an old mediocre 3/4 monitor and see if they will give it away or sell it for cheap. The second monitor does not need to be high quality.
The best use is for when you're playing something mindless that requires next to no cognitive thought like Diablo and you can have a movie or TV show + IRC on the second monitor.
Another good use for multiple monitors:
Gaming with a second party voice chat (Mumble, Ventrilo, Razer Comms, Steam, Google Hangouts, Teamspeak, and so on), this lets you see WHO IS TALKING without having to alt tab or rely on an overlay (which are known to cause game crashes).
The best use for multiple monitors is to have porn on one and porn on the other for that real orgy vibe.
I can tell you not having to alt-tab out of a full screen game just to answer an IM is well worth the scavenging of a second monitor. I don't currently have one for my home setup, which is a pain in the ass, but I can't imagine working without at least a two screen setup.
