Today was the last of the company BBQ's for the summer. I've been doing the grilling for these at my plant since May; in that time, the company never gave the front-liners a single free lunch. Bought everyone lunch for the last 3 day shifts, but today was just special. The ability to to be decent in an indecent place - to share, even for a moment, the effervescent positivity of a selfless act.
I have no idea why but cooking for other people is such a fucking satisfying release.
[/quote]I know that feel. Cooking for myself is depressing, cooking for two is a chore, cooking for three+ is fun.
I love firing up the grill to make burgers for myself. There's not of things more satisfying than eating the steak you just cooked.
For me cooking for myself is a way to test/work on cooking techniques and recipes. When I knock something out of the park part of the joy is figuring out who else I can cook that dish for and would like it. For me the best feelings from cooking comes when cooking for others. Cooking something for you family or friends and knocking it out of the park is an even better rush. I do tend to eat less when I have to cook (nearly) everything from scratch though.
Cooking with friends, for friends, while learning a new recipe = the best

These places are awesome. Fucking go. We have
http://www.kingmakerscolumbus.com here and it is amazing. With absolutely no major brands for beer wines or sodas.
Kingmakers actually set up in a basement where it basically prevents cell phone service, primarily because interpersonal communication while gaming is far more important.

So this is where we go and act better than everyone else for playing D6 Star Wars RPG right?
Surge was back in stock on amazon and I ordered a case. Cue nostalgia gaming nights. ;D
512gb SSD by Crucial showed up today. Rocking the solid state life. Hopefully this fixes my blue screen issues.

Barely been at work a month and the PEM gave me a big project this Wednesday. It's relatively straightforward, so he figured it would be a good opportunity for me to dive into the particular software packages they hired me to work with. I'm pretty stoked that they trusted me with a project this soon.
Unfortunately, the kicker is that the general assembly layout is due this coming Wednesday. I still don't have any of the pertinent cut-sheets (think blueprints/specifications for the equipment). So that sucks. I advised the PM that without cut-sheets, all I'm drawing is a pretty picture, so hopefully that'll expedite the process.
Plus side: I've been given approval for any overtime I want through next Wednesday, since it will be a learning experience for me. So, I guess instead of celebrating finally getting paid (long story, took a month to get paid) this weekend, I'll be busting my hump at the office because dat time-and-a-half. Also bought a Nexus 5 because my shit is beater-as-hell, but it won't be here for a while.
god i just laughed for like 5 seconds at that old "get off me tim"
i wish I could block all sigs but that one
I use adblock for that kinda thing

Got the house to myself for a whole week. (Wish it wasn't because my housemates had a death in the family.)
I'm working my emotions out like a man. In the woodshop. Making furniture.
