External harddrive got knocked off the desk and ended up bricked. Swaped the HD to another holder but my computer still can't find it. Looks like I just lost my music, movies, and steam files.

So as some of you know I put an email I forgot the password to as the contact email for my apb account
APB will not let me change this without being able to get on the email
After countless guesses I did the whole verify email thing
Gmail cannot verify that this account belongs to me.
raped like paper ripped with ease etc etc
i don't feel bad for anyone who forgets passwords when there's easy, free ways to manage passwords.

It's the fml thread not the feel bad for me thread

One of the downsides to keeping such things on an external. Was it a 2.5" or a 3.5"?
Yeah they don't have freefall sensors, you probably ended up with a head crash. You could send it off for data recovery but unless you had legit DRM'd stuff on there with no backups, or personal files with no backups, it's not worth it.
Yeah, i have copies of all the legit media I had on there. I think the worst thing I lost was some old stuff I wrote for some classes and my image macro folder.

i thought you were supposed to be in a desert or something. wouldn't have happened if you just stayed in the desert doing desert things like hunt for peyote
also, somebody told me something about freezers doing wonders or something but i would be negligent if i didn't preface that statement with the qualification that i dont knowing what the fuck im talking about
hope you get your shit sorted without a million headaches
Deserts have electricity and peyote is stupid anyway, it only lasts for like 5 minutes.
But yeah, i stuck the thing in the freezer while I looked around for some solutions, plugged it in, and nothing happened. So I pretty much said fuck it and started looking for another one.
Freezer only works for certain mechanical failures. You'd have better luck taking the drive apart in a dustfree environment to see WTF is wrong with it, then swapping parts from a known good drive. Or if it's in warranty you can try to send it in
I think at this juncture, Tim would suggest having sex with it.Â
Only woman I've ever known myself to have a mutual connection with and a chance with and I think I might have said something last night that could have gone and ruined that.
Fuck me.

only solution now is rape.
Blegh I guess I'll elaborate a little.
We've known each other for a while, and it certainly feels like the physical and emotional attraction is mutual. It feels like we have something, but I can't tell for sure if she feels it too. I just found myself wondering if we did have something, and if it could or should be more than it is. Foolishly I chose to imply that this might be true. I don't think this affected her positively.
Don't worry about it. You might have to work a little harder to fix it but unless you rape a baby or something, you're not going to completely put a girl off by doing one dumb thing. Because girls know guys are stupid and do dumb things.

You want her as a friend or a girlfriend? Because if you want her as a girlfriend you will keep chasing after her like a puppy and it will make her uncomfortable. If you want her as a friend than you need to make a big show of your platonicness. Right now you are in a bad place because you are in the awkward between zone. Nothing good will happen here. You need to man up and pick a side and push through with your choice one way or the other. But before you do you need to realize you can still lose her completely either way, once you are cool with this you need to figure out a way you can approach the issue and be confident and not at all needy. My suggestion is sort yourself out for a day first, or whatever time it takes to sort out your feelings. Do not be wishy washy about this. If you want her as something more than a friend then straight out and ask her on a date, as confident as possible. If you want her as a friend you need to let her know and then be convincing about it pretty much for the rest of your friendship or until she starts sending you signals.
My 2 cents from years of being awkward.
