Related to Karth's story, and other goings-on in this thread.
I've had the misfortune to know quite a few folks who have had significant people in their lives kill themselves. Husband kills self. Father kills self. Uncle OD. Cousin follows uncle and OD. Jealous ex-boyfriend kills self in front of ex and her new beau.
Each and every case that I have seen has resulted in severe emotional violence to the survivors. Some get lost for a time, sometimes years, some never recover. All have the suicide really fuck with their future relationships, triply so when there was a romantic angle.
Simply put: suicide is one of the worst things a person can do to other people. If you want out just to ease your own suffering, without regard as to how that will mess up your closest family and friends for the rest of their lives, that is the very definition of selfish.
I understand what it's like to be overwhelmed with impossible family members and troubled relationships. That shit sucks, and no pick-me-up-rah-rah-pep talk can help that. Still, I encourage folks to expand their vocabulary beyond suicidal musings. There are better ways to express that shitty feeling.
Shortest friendship ever?
This guy I went to (a tiny) highschool with calls me asking if I want to buy his very nice headphones cheap, since mine were broken and he wouldn't be needing them soon (I'll explain at the end). So I go to his house, pick up the headphones, and stay and listen to music and finish a puzzle for 4 hours. I never really talked to this guy at school beyond audio talk, and its nice to know someone who appreciates the same music i do. So then I go to his house (explain later) again and bring him Chipotle (again, later) and we hang out for another few hours, listening to music and watching anime. I realize I wish I had hung out with him more.Â
Next week he goes to prison for several years for being the biggest drug dealer in NoVa, or something like that. I knew he was going to be going sometimme soon, and it didn't surprise me at all. Anyway, he had an ankle bracelet and couldn't leave his house, which is why I always went over there and brought him food.

Who would have guessed that there are red necks in Kentucky?
My face is heavily sunburnt from doing firefighter training all day saturday. It was the only part of my body exposed to the sun.

I keep getting contacted by these damn insurance companies that prey on students, offering a job that isn't really a job. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Patellar contusion. Gonna bruise and look ugly but the doctor twisted my leg and I have full range every direction. Lucky me. Let this be a lesson. Always wear your armor.

Lift with your legs, don't try to curl the bike.
Just got back from the eye specialist, turns out I have minor damage from glaucoma. Luckily it was found early, as far as I can tell from the doctor. I got two different drops to test in each eye for a month before going back for a follow up. The side effects of the drops are bloodshot eyes and drying, the potential of my iris turning from the beautiful blue it is now to a brown, and gaining supermodel eyelashes.
