I'll just have a lawyer take care of it.
Unless surf does it pro bono that sounds more expensive than the ticket.
Nah not really. The ticket is $175 and most traffic lawyers will take care of it for you for $100-$150. It's maybe 20 minutes worth of work for them.

64 in a 45. It was a total speed trap though. It was 65 then all of a sudden was 45 and probably 500 feet beyond where I got pulled over it was 65 again.
19 over is $175?? fight that shit. my ONLY speeding ticket was (utter bullshit) 15 over in 65, and came to a grand total of $70.Â
*utter bullshit = on active duty, in uniform. No one believes that trooper actually gave me a ticket. I've had troopers here light my ass up, pull behind me, see the veteran plate and CAB sticker I have in the back window and then go grab someone else.Â

yup, the fine is X amount for every mph over the limit you are plus court costs.
We pay $7.70 per KM/H over the limit plus court fees:

Speed over limitAmount (Jan. 1, 2010)

10-12 km/h over$177.50 - $202.75

13-15 km/h over $216 - $241.25

16-19 km/h over $253.50 - $292

20-34 km/h over $304.25 - $482.50

35-49 km/h over $494.75 - $673

50-99 km/h over $685.25 - $1,303.25

100-120 km/h overDetermined in court

More than 120 km/h overDetermined in court

Here, your 19 MPH over would cost you $406.50, plus taxes and payment fees (unless you wanna stand in line to pay cash).

Twice the speed limit is still just a fine?

In Ontario, where they still fine you, but also pull your license immediately and impound your car.

F that noise, too rich for my blood. I'll stick to US where a good costume and cover story can bail you out of a ticket doing 40mph over
Clearly none of you have met California Highway Patrol.
:-\
Now I lost my wedding ring. :-\
Just got back from seeing my grandparents again. It was good seeing them because they are 97 and 92 and have a good deal of health problems each. I feel really bad for my grandma though. She has alzheimers and went blind after, so she can't remember that she is blind. I honestly think she was better this visit then the last one though.

Not just each morning, most of the time she thinks its night. When I left she asked me to send her a picture of me and my wife.

That's absolutely heartbreaking. It reminds me of the time my cousin asked my aunt why we had to leave my grandfather at the hospital the night before his funeral, I mean, how do you even respond to something like that?
I don't always break up, but when I do, they're violent as fuck. shit hurts my friends.
