My last grandparent died this morning. She's also the first whose funeral I'll be able to attend.

[/quote]What sucks worse is that I was in NY last month, totally could've driven out to the hospital to see her before she died, got told I shouldn't because my dad couldn't handle flying out to be there with me D:

I know i really shouldn't care
but one of my friends probably WEEKS ago changed my facebook info
And I hadn't noticed
and he changed the "interested in" section of my info to men.
And it's probably been up for weeks now.
I knew there was something weird about getting ads for meeting other men on my sidebar on Facebook

Same, I had to go through that recently myself. All my grandparents are alive but half barely.

Same here.  About a year ago my grandfather managed to crash his car in Miami, and so we pretty much had to stop letting them come down to Florida every year.

My grandfather died in 2001, so I guess I know how you feel. My grandparents that live out in Farmington are probably going to pass on before I get out of college...I know that's a horrible thing to say, but my Grandpa's memory gets worse every day (dementia) and my grandmother's sight is just getting worse.

I'm sorry to hear it, Atom. I never knew my grandparents; I met my mom's mom once when I was very young and we did not share a language. All others were dead before then and she died shortly thereafter, so I won't pretend to know your loss. But, I feel for you all the same.

My mom's friend died due to cancer. On top of that, her children have to deal with a shitty dad.
