It's like I'm on /x/ but with less penises! I approve.
Also: Anyone remember these sons of bitches:
Those illustrations. That, and the Harold story.
I'm actually the one who got /x/ obsessed with those again. Posted it on there randomly 2 or 3 years ago.
Wake up, its boring, nothing to do, so I hop on my laptop to read a bit. Dad comes home, and surprises me by walking in all dressed up from work when he got home at like 4. I get up to give him a hug and a good morning, "So I get home, and you jump off. You are ALWAYS on the computer." And then he acts like he caught me in the act of doing something when I am on the Vibram Fivefingers page for facebook.
Okay then, slightly peeved. "Why are you always on the computer?" He asks. And by that, he means why am I always watching porn (which I don't) (Serious). Alright, maybe because I woke up at 7 o clock in the morning, and I just took a shower, and I just want to read a bit... "Why don't you play your xbox?" Dad, I wanted to read. "Huh, Yeah, Read." GOD DAMNIT DAD. LOOK AT WHAT I AM READING ABOUT. ITS FOOT ARCH MUSCLE STRENGTHENING EXERCISES. HOW IS THAT PORN.
"Huh, Yeah, reading. Watch out, I am going to take that computer away from you (because you watch too much porn)"
Fuck. You. Stereotypes.

When I was growing up, my parents didn't have any of these stereotypes, so they just told me I'd get vision problems from being too close to the screen, and said it kept me from making friends. You know, computer problems. Which were the same as all them video game brain problems that the kids are getting... which... just never really existed, but my parents would give me shit about it.
I think it's hilarious that your dad thinks playing xbox is "safe".
Next time you know he's going to be around, keep like a dozen tabs on your browser full of research, close everything else when you hear his footsteps, and when he goes into his tirade, show him that you're excited about the things you're looking up.
My laptop charger is slowly breaking now and I just a week ago got 165 dollars and I spent half of it already so it is not nearly enough for that overpriced as hell charger. My computer is pretty much what I do all bloody day and it is lovely that if it DOES break all this steam deals are stuff are going on.
I'm somewhat pissed.

Item found outside of Yuma, Arizona on March 24th, 1952.
During regular training exercises, Corporal Ben Flynn and his squadron came across an strange statue in an empty installation set to be used for future bombing run training. The statue is approximately seven feet tall and human in form. The arms and legs are disproportionate to the head and torso, resembling a fetus. Strange colouration was noted on the face of the statue and it was posed against on of the inner walls of the building. Upon further inspection, Corporal Flynn noted that the statue is composed of mostly cement and is possibly reinforced with steel rebar. It is likely man-made.
Further investigation of the surrounding area yielded no other signs of transportation for the statue other that misshapen foot prints. It is likely that the statue was placed there by locals looking to create a stir or possibly protest the war. Private Allen Benson took the supplied photograph to document the area in the event that an investigation to the security of the training area is to take place.
Private Benson reported that he heard the sound of heavy scraping within the building shortly after he left. This prompted a search of the other rooms in case any civilians may have still been in the building but were undetected. The area was given an "all clear" by the squad commander and the statue was left in the building. It was deemed necessary that on June 9th, a final morning inspection of the building will be conducted before it is demolished to make certain that no civilians have returned to the area and to ensure no lives are lost.

I remember going camping when I was younger with my brother and some family friends. The one guy that came with, who was a friend of our parents, used to read these to us around the campfire at night. He was so good at reading stories, and yet I never really got that freaked out by this book. I loved these stories, but the only one I can seem to remember is the wolf girl one and even that is just bits and pieces.
People started putting scary stuff in my emo thread. FML.

Just don't let your mind have circular thought patterns for too long. It's thinking, but that sort of thinking makes no progress in any way.
