Putting this back here where it belongs:
On topic: had one of my longest friends burn our 13-year friendship yesterday to help fuel her transition out of her marriage and job and into a better situation in life. Kinda hurts to have helped her through all of it and then end up having her cut me loose as ballast, but I guess I can move on as well.
This is the book of stuff that I will be tested on for my firefighter certification :o
I bet the test is open book.
A friend of mine in Richmond may have testicular cancer. If you find something strange, get tested, kids.
Quote:It may be a private, and somewhat embarrassing matter, but I want people to be aware and also this may help prevent this to one of you (guys) in the future.
A month ago I found two lumps on one of my testicles (Yes, you can giggle...). A couple of weeks ago I found another one on my other one. I decided to go get them checked - despite the embarrassment and anxiety. I made an appointment with Virginia Urology (I highly recommend them to anyone).
The doctor was concerned by the fact the lumps were only a few weeks old. He ordered an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed multiple lumps not just on the surface. He then ordered blood work to be drawn yesterday, and a CT scan for today. He was concerned that the lumps were from Lymphoma.
Today, I had the CT scan and they reviewed the blood work results. The blood work revealed that I most likely do not have testicular cancer. That is a good thing.
I have to go to an oncologist tomorrow for another review of the CT. If the CT is negative for lymphoma, then I have to have a testicle biopsied (which doesn't always mean full removal, but that is up to the oncologist).
All of this is embarrassing and pretty overwhelming. Anything that I might have is VERY treatable. Please, guys, check yourselves regularly. If there is anything there that you are not sure about, GO GET IT CHECKED! Don't wait a month like me. The only reason I am posting so much detail is because I don't want people to wait it out -- if there is an issue do not wait. I feel much better knowing than a few weeks ago not knowing.
I should know more (if not all) tomorrow. Thank you all for you continued prayers.

Nope, that book is filled with all the skills I need to be able to demonstrate to the state test proctors. So how to properly don and doff PPE, how to properly ventilate a roof, how to bust down a door with a Halligan Tool, etc.
Shit, I'll take a practical any day of the week over written.Â

A forner co-worker lost one nut to cancer and had the surviving one zapped with radiation. He said it was like defrosting steak too long in the microwave.

Claiming the title of "Most Awkward in a Relationship" for yourself is a pretty bold move. We want details. Or not. Up to you.

Hmmm well, I don't want to go into too much detail on a public forum.
Basically my friend and I are casually dating and she wanted to kiss. Being asexual, I have little to no interest in the physically intimate things that accompany most relationships. I slowly rejected the advance because it felt awkward at the time. Now I feel pretty bad about it since it would have made her happy and I had nothing to lose since I was indifferent towards the idea.

Eh, I wouldn't feel too bummed about it. How sure are you that if you had gone along with it she wouldn't eventually feel led on later? People are wierd
If there is a greater power in life, I am certain that it has sadistic tendencies.
