Even though I'm not that kind of guy, I went for the arm-around-shoulders thing after watching Totoro and two hours of Castle. I freaked her out and I think I may have just ruined an awesome friendship.
Going to see if I can salvage this tomorrow or after the weekend is over.
I feel like such an ass.
Don't feel bad at all! You didn't do anything scuzzy! You were just testing the waters!  Its not like you went arm around the shoulders to innapropriate boob grab or something! Seriously, if she's a cool friend, you two should be able to talk this out, it's just an arm around her shoulder!
Good luck salvaging that friendship, maybe she'll even find new feelings for ya?

It sounded like you just smoked a big bowl of meth in my mind's voice before you posted that with all those exclamation points

I'm just having a good day so far
Herb, bacon and eggs and yoga....Im gonna get a coffee now to top it all off

I was too drunk to recall it, but there was a convo that went like this
>Some Asian Chick at a party - "Dare you to grab my boobs"
>Dtrain honks them
>She flips out like "I can't believe you did that"

+1 for honking of breasts.
I'm trying to do servo motion physics, and I can't remember shit from trig.

when learning trig did anyone else's school teach you to rememeber the word "SOHCAHTOA"? (so-kuh-toe-uh very native american sounding)
Sine
Opposite
Hypotensue
Cosine
Adjacent
Hypotenuse
Tangent
Opposite
Adjacent.
It just helps you remember
sine=O/H
cosine=A/H
Tangent=O/A
This always made it simple as hell for me but when I talked people doing their physics hw, struggling to remember what was what, this technique helped them a lot and may help the rest of you. I'm sure what atom is doing is way higher level but here this is anyway.
Yeah but then you get into hyperbolic inverse cosines and shit that doesn't like being memorized with simple mnemonics.
Its even simpler shit than that, I was over-complicating it pretty badly. Once I reduced my degrees of freedom on the trajectory design, I only had to figure out the deceleration portion of a two-part piecewise velocity curve, which is much much easier when total movement time, distance, and acceleration are fixed

I only did ap mechanical in high school and intro to physics 1 freshman year so yeah. kinematic equations are my homeboys though, geometry is my fav domain of math because I like to visualize.
algebra all the way.
I find much enjoyment in solving overly-complicated algebraic equations. I think I also used to like multivariable calculus at one time, but that was three years ago.
Just wanted to poke my head in this discussion because I never passed pre-algebra.
K I'm going into a corner now.

More story:
She came back a few minutes later to apologize for flipping out, and we talked/hugged. She said "
something something win me over" and "
something you're awesome
something" on top of something about not losing our friendship.
I got off campus for the weekend (she was going home as well) but I want to talk to her again on Sunday when we're both back.
I think I'm going to ask her if I should wait for her move or if I should consider us "just friends" for a while. I'm pretty sure the friendship won't be awkward, but I'm still super worried inside.
Trying to write my lab report (just doing data tables now) but can't focus. Might try to find something on my car to fix/break instead. Unnnngh.

Wait im confused? Is she asking you to win her over? Then you dont wait for her move, you do your best to nut up and impress her haha.
Clarify plz
Keep your head clear and do what you think you need to do. I'm hoping for you.

I don't know. I think she said I "
might be able to win her over", but it may have been a little more positive than that.
BRB, U: Where keynote FML topics involve hyperbolic trig and the interpretation of arm-around-shoulders inappropriate boobgrabshonks.
Speaking of which, keeping up with work when you have mono sucks balls: A midterm worth of Ad Chem and calc-based mechanics, Tons of BC Calc, a 3 minute movie to make, and that is just well defined catch-up work, two teachers haven't even bothered to get back to me.
On the good side of things, I have gotten some of the most peaceful sleep in months.
I've been back in the states for almost a week, and i looked at my credit card statement.

I got a 4 day pass for veteran's day, so I went home. Â I have to be back at Benning next week- I'm being transferred to the warrior transition battalion so they can figure out what wrong with my knee. Â It sucks because I could probably do it at home, but it's not so bad, since I stay on active duty for treatment. Â bottom line- I'll have to try Baltimore later. Â
