do you guys not get the concept of "my best friends girlfriend is literally fucking another dude behind his back and i have to tell him this so it's probably a serious matter" like i get it you guys like neg repping me and trying to make jokes instead of helping whenever i come back but the "fuck my life" thread is probably one of the worst places you could do it.
The reason you always get such a hostile response to your posts is twofold Turtle, The first being the already stated fact that you put such an immature slant on the situation (Boo-thang etc) that it's hard to feel even remotely sorry for you.
The second part is you aren't very well liked in BRBu, your actions in the past have left alot of people, myself included, with negative opinions on you. This makes this a rather bad place to look for support.

some of that, but more of this:
when we give you the proper course of action , you never take our advice anyways. so why post at all ?
it seems like you just wanted a third party to condone and forgive you for being a terrible friend - which isn't us. so you throw your tard-fit and now we're back to square one.

Monday:
- customer: When are you traveling?
- me: Wednesday, but I should wrap up today and I'll probably take tomorrow off, see the sights, etc.
Tuesday:
- customer: I wasn't expecting to see you today, weren't you leaving?
- me: Yeah, but someone called me last night and asked me to come in. I'll probably be here a few hours and then fly out in the morning.
Wednesday:
- customer: I wasn't expecting to see you today, weren't you leaving?
- me: Yeah, but I was here so late last night that I cancelled my flight. I wanted to come in and make sure you ran fine overnight before heading out of the country. I'll be here a few hours and then fly out in the morning.
Thursday:
- customer: I wasn't expecting to see you today, weren't you leaving?
- me: I was here until 1am last night. There's something going wrong that I'm missing, so we turned the feature off last night. I'm just here for a few hours to have my sign out and then fly out in the morning.
WHAT WILL TOMORROW BRING??????????????????

RE: Turtle
Turtle disappeared for a while, but then came back asking for help. Maybe he sees something in this community that he would like to incorporate more in his life, but is having difficulty making it fully part of his ethic.
Ira Glass has some great insight on "the Gap." His initial framing was the creativity gap between our artistic taste and what we as aspiring artists can actually create, but I think it applies to a wider range of how we conduct ourselves as people.
And I quote:
Quote:What nobody tells people who are beginners â and I really wish someone had told this to me . . . is that all of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, and itâs just not that good. Itâs trying to be good, it has potential, but itâs not.
But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase. They quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesnât have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know itâs normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story.
It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone Iâve ever met. Itâs gonna take awhile. Itâs normal to take awhile. Youâve just gotta fight your way through.â

To paraphrase: there is sometimes a gap between who we want to be and our ability to be that person.
Zane started as a tardie and is now a much more mature, and funny, member (that 3d/2d joke was great). Karth started as our earliest punching bag and yet now I can tolerate him in 10 minute doses. That Turtle returns and endures our collective ministrations suggests that he is no mere Trolltle, but is still seeking his way in life.
Actual trolls who have no interest in changing disappear after the first punch, like ZoSo and Blues.
It's fine if some of you want to discourage trolls and people you don't feel contribute to the community. I get that, and this is not an attempt to say that's wrong. Hell, I join you half the time. But I also would like to think that if someone keeps hangning around then maybe we can inspire and
teach help them to be better people.
EDIT: better verb. I can't teach people much, but I can help them.

MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE
Preparing for stressful finals has the unfortunate side effect of weakening my ability to suppress all of those insidious little thoughts, emotions, and anxieties I always have creeping around the back of my mind. Which in turn makes it even harder for me to maintain focus, perpetuating the feedback loop.
Great stuff.
Gotta retake that calculus. GG

Excellent quote, and a pretty versatile concept in different contexts.
I'm taking that to heart as well. It's not that everything has to be perfect, I just have to be mindful, pay attention to what I'm doing all the time, and people will take my process into account because it'll be obvious that my execution is process-driven.

Mental health issues are faux-pas in our culture. It's constantly and consistently overlooked, even when the statistics show that a majority of us will undergo a mental health issue at least once or twice in our lifetime.
Instead, we'll blame guns and violent media. Go figure.
The MSN article above has a paragraph that is just as applicable to the U.S. as it is to China:
"Most of the attackers have been mentally disturbed men involved in personal disputes or unable to adjust to the rapid pace of social change in China, underscoring grave weaknesses in the antiquated Chinese medical system's ability to diagnose and treat psychiatric illness."

Exactly, and it pisses me off. I'm really tempted to go on facebook and yell at everyone who is like "WE NEED TO BAN GUNS SO THIS WON'T HAPPEN!" Because ultimately that won't fix this. The number of incidents may lower (slightly), but ultimately guns are still accessible and people will still do these things because we aren't tackling the root problem. I think society would benefit a lot if we were to just sit down and go "Look guys, this is not proper mental health. You know someone like this? Make sure they get help.
