I spent my Labor Day making food for businessmen and students who probably had the day off...That seem right to you?
I also found out that I get to work a double tomorrow, instead of just the night shift. Also, our computer and register...aren't talking to each other...or something, but nobody could clock in or out after 2ish, and no sales were recorded by the computer either. Fucking fuck, why can't we go one week without someone quitting, calling out, or the computer fucking us over?

We sat like 4 rows in front of it on our flight from Atlanta to Madison, hurr hurr.
Also FML; I'm sitting here in rural Lake Mills using my grandparents intertubes, I can ping a speedtest server in Maine and get 19ms ping, whereas the reverse ping from my house to here is like 89ms, which is ironically why I never play TF2 on our servers anymore, my ping to Chicago is like 100+ from Maine with dropped packets all over the place, ping from here to there is 90% less.
wtf.
For a long time now, I've felt like this war is kinda like raiding in world of warcraft- you keep running missions until the right item/award drops, and it's mostly right place/right time.
I set out tonight looking for a place where I could make a joke out of this wow-OEF connection, and then I realized the set of people I know who've played world of warcraft, and the set of people I know who've played OEF, do not intersect.

That's a pretty scary thought. Especially since the drop system is trying to kill you.

The reward is that we kill terrorism forever.

[/quote]^this. Anyone who believes that we'll be 'free of terrorists' if we somehow cow the entire middle east into submission, has never read anything about Timothy McVeigh, or domestic terrorism in general. You can't kill a concept or a methodology. You have to fix the culture that creates a nurturing environment for it, without becoming a polarizing influence (because everyone has a greater sense of 'purpose' if they're collectively fighting against something). You typically don't do that by shooting people, but hey.
I love our country, I support our troops, I believe there are terrorists that need to be found, captured, or killed by (nearly) any means necessary, but I think we're doing it wrong, and the thing that really kills me inside is that I don't see a better way to do it.

Wrong. That was solely directed at Eschatos's reaction to the 'terrorism will be gone forever' chatter that was going on.
I might be dumb, but I'm not so insensitive as to mock people in dangerous situations.
It actually kind of concerns me that you think I was using Crow's hardships as a point of entertainment.

Not really, but sometimes I like to fit in with the crowd. :'(
Turns out that our computer problem was Norton Anti-Virus blocking the fucking POS program we run. What is this shit, they never stop anything bad, just programs that you're trying to run, gah...
In other news, a plane carrying an entire KHL (Russian NHL, basically) went down, and took the entire team with it. A bunch of former NHL players were on it, including a guy who played for Carolina a while back.Â
