Yeah, I'll freely admit the actions of cops can suck sometimes. Still I'd much rather live with the consequences of having cops than the consequences of not having them.Â
really, I have more of a problem with laws than cops. Namely punishing adolescents (or anyone) for substance abuse because you're trying to protect them. Now, obviously drugs like meth and crack greatly hurt communities and raise crime but it's clear that our current system isn't working.

Our current system has flaws, but we are not protecting them from themselves. We are protecting society from them.
I rather wake up in the morning and step outside and take a deep breathe to get really high (on life) than having to see a lawless society. (I know, extreme case).
On the issue itself, I do not support the cop's action as it is not right in our society nor it is not needed. However, I also fault the protestors as well, because I do not agree with the message from the protestors' side. Basically, they said that Wall Street is destroying the world (or so a friend of mine put it). A part of it is true, but the other part is false. It is our fault as well. We did not plan ahead and thus we fall.

Got back from jury duty today. Case was about a child molester. We found him guilty, but I still feel like shit.

Then Justice was truly served; True Justice is grim work, weighing a person's liberties and life should be difficult.

clearly the prison system has been muffed up for a while, but they really bullshitted a statistic saying more 17 year old black mails are in jail than college. That's because the vast majority of college freshman are already 18 when they enroll. At least that's how it is where I'm from, very few people in my class were 17 by the time their college school years start.

Out of curiosity, was this molester the creepy dude with the windowless van or was it a 20 year old who had sex with his 17 year old girlfriend?

Eh, I might have misheard but I think they were talking about the British numbers right there. And if I'm not mistaken, "college" there refers to something different than what we call college here (which they refer to as "university"). Anyways I might be completely out of left field here but that's what I've been told/trolled by my overseas friends.

British English - College refers to 2 year institutions that award associates degrees, University (Uni for short) is a 4 year institution
US English - College refers to a 4 year institution that grants full degrees, Junior College is a 2 year institution

and universities refer to institutions which also offer degrees past a 4 year degree.

if you aren't already countermedicate with caffeine and such, just make sure caffeine is safe with what you're on. probably won't do too too much but it might take the edge off of it.

Caffeine has never had much if an effect on me, and sadly it is doing nothing for me now. I also do not really want to be knocking back caffeine all day just to stay awake.
