Also, my heat is broken in my house. We have a bearded dragon that my wife brought home from her classroom for Christmas that is in real danger due to it being so cold in the house.

It's like ripping the bandaid off. It hurts more now but you will get over it quicker in the end.

Come visit me and SPM for a few days.
Problem is solved. Bad sensor in the furnace, it was kicking on the pilot light was on but it was still blowing cold air through the vents. The lizard is back at my wife's work.
Just dropped nearly a thousand bucks on books for the next semester at university, and that was with the cheapest possible used versions.
One of the dogs we're fostering/adopting got into some chocolate today. Luckily we were only out of the house for 45 minutes, caught it as soon as we got back, and then took him immediately to the vet. The vet said it didn't look like he'd digested any of it yet and that he should be fine, but it cost us $200+ to find that out (they had to induce vomiting in both dogs because we didn't know which one had done it).
Ladyfriend feels like crap because she feels responsible, since it was one of her chef-related gifts she'd not given away/put away properly. She'll either learn how to avoid dogs getting into things, or the poor dogs will end up dead. I grew up with satan's own Labrador Retreiver, I'm used to it, but she never had a large pet (not even as big as these poodles), and didn't listen to me when I said we weren't ready for dogs before fostering these two. Ugh.

[/quote]It was homemade hot chocolate mix, solid bars you're supposed to put into hot milk. She was too panicky to remember the recipe, so we took them straight in, but when we finally worked it out, the recipe broke down to 16oz of Dark Chocolate + 8oz of Milk Chocolate + condensed milk and some other stuff, divided into 32 servings, and he ate two of those servings (plus one serving of peppermint white chocolate mix which wasn't dangerous, and three large marshmallows).
They tried to induce vomiting with two doses of some sort of peroxide, when that didn't work they injected him with an opoid and everything seemed to come up, and the vet didn't hear any cardiac arrhythmia so she didn't think he was in any danger.
As of this morning he seems to be none the worse for wear, the little bastard.
Damnit. It's supposed to be icemageddon out there. I was fully intending to take my meetings today while in a bathrobe sitting in my recliner in my living room. But NOOOOOOOOO, roads have to not be icy.Â
