Dear FairPoint Communications,
 Â
Why oh why did you have to come to New England? Before you were around, I was able to make a 911 call
from a landline and never have to think that it might not connect me to the person I need to talk to the most
in the world at that point, someone who might save the life of myself or someone else. Now I have fear that
I might end up speaking with a 911 dispatcher in South Carolina instead, who can't even patch my call into the
correct exchange system because that system isn't allowing incoming calls, or that the phone may just ring and
ring, never being connected to any phone on the other end at all.
Why oh why did you also have to dash my hopes and dreams of über internet? I sit here being a little interweb piwate,
watching my torrents cranking along at about a meg and a half a second, while choking on the measly 62KB/s upload
that I've been capped at. Before you came around, Verizon had promised me at least FTTC, if not FTTP, guaranteeing
me 25 Mbps / 25 Mbps service. I can't be a good pirate if I can't upload FairPoint. :'(

Fun fact, issues like this result in massive fines from the FCC.
For common carriers, the Commission may impose $130,000 per violation or per day of a continuing violation to a maximum of $1.325 million for a continuing violation.

It was a very serious possibility that FairPoint was going to be forced to revert the sale and return ownership of all assets gained in the purchase, back to Verizon after the 911 issues happened. They paid $25,000 in fines to the Maine PUC, that's it.
Vermont at one point has given serious consideration of revoking Fairpoint's right to provide service in the entire state as well.

Got to work a double on our busiest day of the week, had a sore throat all day, which sucks, since I'm constantly talking to people since I work in a restaurant, found out that I wouldn't be going to the Hurricanes game on Wednesday with a lady-friend since she couldn't get the tickets at half-price like she originally thought while on my break, when I got back from break our cash register stopped working completely, so every single order we had for ~2 hours had to be written down by hand, including calculating the tax on a calculator, both cash and credit cards, which all had to be rung back into the computer by hand later. Â All of this during the busiest time of our busiest night of the week.
And on top of that my one employee decided to start acting like a giant bitch because I wouldn't let him go smoke a cigarette because we had so much shit to get done.

I used to pump gas in a full serve off I-95 in Kennebunk (1st rest stop in Maine if coming from south) One year, during July, around 9AM, our register died.
Maine is called vacationland btw.
Achievement unlocked: Get sick (food poisoning?) first day of spring break.

Fucking gimmicky assholes
Family shit, here it comes:
So it turns out my last surviving grandfather has Alzheimers... today he finally fucking lost it.
After some weird phone calls, my dad drove down across a few states to see him. Grandpa has been shitty taking his medication and sent money to some scammers who are hounding him with phone calls. Police are tracking down the money. He's probably going to get committed soon. Family picks up slack while I can't do anything to help.
Oh yeah, and my dad needs to be back up north to go in for another round of chemo on Saturday.
Fuck people who prey on seniors and fuck cancer
after maybe another week outside, my friend has re-submitted himself in the asylum, hospital, whatever the hell you call it.
I don't know what to think. I don't trust hospitals as is, I've grown to fear them, because you rarely hear positive things from them. You look in any room, you see another sad story, or grim future. Although you do sometimes get that "Going to be out in a day" story from people, there is a definite shift in that balance. Also, the hospital that I think he is submitted in has a history of unstable staff members, and I think about a decade ago, a nurse shot the place up.
Yes, I know, I'm paranoid, but I think I have a right to because I could be losing a friend here.

Hospitals are as bad as the people there, I hope he is in good hands. After being in the hospital for depression many times in the past all I can say is if he wants to get better he eventually will, but the level of comfertablity and support to help him want to get better strongly depend on the staff and at times the people around him in the enviroment.
Oh and it is 2:18 in the morning and yeah I mispelled some shit but at this point I am WAY to tired to give a fuck.
wow, I was all about to get butthurt 'cuz SonicWall blocked Reddit... but my problems just don't compare to spending weeks inside a mental hospital.
Some idiot set off the fire alarm making popcorn, making me stand out side until a few minutes ago; Have a midterm tomorrow, missed a quiz earlier this week and e-mailed the teacher about a make-up finding out I had missed the make-up by an hour or so; Big Earthquake in Japan has me worrying about my cousin in Tokyo; The Max Pacioretty incident; and me breaking everything I fucking touch. What a great week.Â
