there was also that tech that staple gunned the cable to the wall -- going through the cable and grounding it out on the insulation.

Hah, I forgot about that guy. Credit to team.
"Dear Boss:
The top third of our department is out sick or on leave. We can't do the move today and be expected to help customers as well."
"Hmm... You're right. After your coverage hours, log out of your telephone, and THEN move all your shit upstairs."

wowowowow how do you get that stupid.
Welp, wife's grandmother passed at 10:54pm CST last night. This was her THIRD pronounced death of the night. She'd stop breathing, they'd call it, and she'd start breathing again. I ended up making a Monty Python joke or two. I'M NOT QUITE DEAD

Aw, my condolences :/
Jokes like that I feel are appropriate and usually needed to inject a bit of light heartedness into a very difficult situation.
This is a dumb nerd fml
I have been playing SSB: Brawl intensively and almost obsessivley for the past year and a half. I fancy myself a damn good Brawl player. And now this weekend there is a campus-wide BRAWL TOURNAMENT! Finally all my time will pay off! BUT GUESS WHAT? It is at the EXACT SAME TIME as my sketch troupe's show, which we have been rehearsing for for weeks now!
fffffffffffffffffffffff

Leave a stack of contact cards at the tournament. Go perform, and you will have worthy foes calling you after the tournament.
Finally bought replacement fans and had the time to reassemble my old gaming rig as a fileserver last night. It won't boot. I can't tell if it's not POSTing or if my two video cards I have are just both bad, because the motherboard doesn't have a PC Speaker. No beeps, just everything in the case spinning up and NO SIGNAL from my monitor.
Attach a PC speaker then. It's how mobos communicate error codes....

Go before/after and play friendlies. Less glory but you still get to strut your stuff and maybe get in contact with those who also play seriously.

Most manufacturers no longer populate that on the board, and many boards I've come across are able to beep speakers connected to the 1/8" jack when they have integrated audio. However, I got no traction out of that, and I don't have a PC Speaker lying around, and it was already 0030 when I was trying to boot the motherfucker up so I went to bed instead of busting out my soldering iron to steal one off another board, figuring I'd check out Radio Shack in the morning.
Its an FML because generally when you have to go so far as to deal with beep codes to figure out what's wrong, you're in the hole for at least another $150 (because either your motherboard, processor, RAM, power supply, or some combination thereof is toast). But thanks for the condescension, it's really helping.
If your aren't getting a POST, the first step is to get the beep code. Doing anything else short of checking that everything is plugged in firmly is a waste of time.
You might as well be poking it with a stick or glaring at it...
Kids in the hall - car won't start
Wire an LED to your pc speaker pins, it's not like the case doesn't come with any...

I think I'm gonna pop over afterward. This is a weird weekend. There is actually one other show I wanted to go to at that same time but that's not a big deal.
i got a two pin beep code speaker off ebay for like 2 dollars. used it a few times already.
That's what I ended up getting. Arrives tomorrow, so we'll see.
my place of employment takes too fucking long to reimburse me for expenses.
Just had the talk with my sister & bother-in-law, calling the vet tomorrow to see if we have to make a appointment to put down the pug.Â
gonna miss my bed Buddie.

Connected speaker, no beep codes. Tried it the other way around, still no beep codes. Everything lights/spins up, so that means I've got a toasted motherboard. Probably. I'll have to start removing hardware from the case until I sort out what's busted, I guess. Except that won't happen until right before Christmas, with my work schedule.
