No, but I'd think there'd be more of a buffer, it's common in this city to take a right at a stop sign and be in a development full of 500k+ with damn near zero crime rate, if you take a left, you get shot at. It's weird, the slums are too busy trying to rob each other that they don't even notice the lexus with the keys in it across the road.
sort of like this?
Gotta love city planning, I blame poorly educated CivEs and anyone who studied Urban Planning

Oh well. Same type of poverty, same scenery, same style of dilapidated buildings packed in tightly next to a resort or high-class living building. Could have copy/pasted it.
I studied for about a day for my first cell biology exam, and got the forth lowest grade in my class of ~30 people. Â For the next exam, I studied for several weeks before, felt really prepared, and I got the third lowest grade. Â I'm going to have to retake the course next spring, because I'm below the standard deviation.
Im a fucking microbiologist, and this entire course has been about fucking animal cells, memorizing enzymes and pathways that don't exist in microbes. Â I don't get how my classmates are doing so well, unless it's because I hate memorizing, I fucking hate the course, hate the profs (omg one of them is a fucking intelligent design tard, fucking tenure), and I'm just basically unhinged right now.
It's not the end of my career, but it really really sucks, I just don't understand why they're doing this to me. Â And why i did worse on an exam that I was more prepared for.
Of course this is my fault, gotta take responsibility for this, but it's just so depressing to put so much effort into the second exam, and then doing worse. It's like I have no control over my fate.

I know that feel. Forget about spanish test until day of? 89. Study for spanish test for 2 days beforehand? 64.
Lol wtf my TA can't add, I got a 58 instead of a 48. Â Still probably gonna have to retake, but at least I'm not completely stupid?
edit yup got the points back, I'm still in this game. Barely.
If you guys haven't seen it on the news my beloved UPITT has been the target for numerous bomb threats the past few weeks. It happened first with a threat to a single class building and everyone was pretty shocked; nothing like it happened before. Since then It's gradually increased to 4-5 buildings being threatened at once and numerous threats throughout the day every day. It causes the building to be evacuated and searched for about two hours. Class schedules are getting fucked and now they've started threatening the fucking dorms in the middle of the night. The university has been working tirelessly to do something with the FBI but they really can't. They've had to ban book bags from class buildings and put them on restricted access.
It's infuriating how one little freshman fuck who's probably failing out can tarnish a school's reputation and inconvenience literally thousands of people trying to get educated.
just watch; it'll be a pissed off administrator.Â

Studying is hard. I was a psych major for a few semesters. my primary interest was in memory encoding and recall. Lots can go wrong when studying that can cause you to block certain encoded material on the test, or to not encode the information at all. worst of all, if you study the wrong material, you could permanently encode the wrong information. this creates a lot of doubt in yourself when answering questions on an exam.Â
that being said, tho, there are some studying tips that can reduce the amount of time you need to study as well as have it encoded much more accurately and decrease the chance of it being blocked. If you're interested I could post a link to those times?Â
there I go again, bein' all nosy n stuffs. Es tut mir leid 8)
A recruiter called me today, I thought he was recruiting for something technical, so I sold my technical skills. I did so too well, "LT Crow, you should really find a technical position, I'm not recruiting for any technical positions right now. Frankly, you'd be bored in the job I was going to talk to you about."Â
I'm going to quit talking to these people unless they're up front about what they've got.

Make them show their cards first, for sure.
Well just had a talk with my sister about our Pug, He isn't doing too well, Blind & deaf, with some weird boil on his cheek, saying she doesn't want him in pain and if another thing wrong shows up on him. To put him to sleep. Sad times..

Ugh, I know that feel bro. I put my cat down a couple weeks ago because his kidneys were failing. Give your Pug as much love and attention as you can now. Also, if you end up putting him down, stay in the room with him when they do it. They get very scared otherwise.

I cant find a link to the study at the moment but...it linked having ~2 beers before studying or attempting to do brain teasers had a statistically significant positive effect on performance.
Unfortunately the motorcycle is still not running properly. I'm going to bring it in to a mechanic on friday to see what they say. I sure hope it's fixed by acen because driving to chicago in my shitty ass car would suck.
Perhaps if it's blown up to all shit and it would cost more money than it's worth it will be an excuse for me to upgrade...

You can always bus it down to the con. You live close to Appleton right? IIRC, there are one or two bus lines that go through Appleton to O'Hare/Chicago.
If not, you can always drive to a city that does (like Madison or Milwaukee). More complicated and expensive but it'll get you there :d
I also have a shitty ass car that should not be driven on highways for long periods of time.
